- Enforcement Begins: August 9, 2026.
- Minimum Requirement: At least 10% of diagnostic medical equipment must meet accessible MDE standards.

ADA & ABA Compliance for Gov't Customers
New Medical Diagnostic Equipment (MDE) accessibility standards are now in effect for state, local, and federal healthcare facilities—including the VA. While the ADA governs state and local entities, VA facilities follow the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), which closely aligns with ADA requirements.
For VA organizations, staying ahead of these changes is essential. At seca, accessibility and veteran safety are at the core of every design. With the August 2026 MDE compliance deadline approaching, now is the time to ensure your diagnostic equipment meets—and exceeds—federal accessibility standards.
